Default Setting quota as domain admin

Hello,

when i try to change quota as domain admin i get an error:
permission denied: can not modify mail quota Error code: service.PERM_DENIED Method: ModifyAccountRequest Details:soap:Sender

My question is how to change quota being logged in as domain administrator? I have installed latest ZCS (64 bit). Thanks in advance for reply.

Regards

You need to ask the Global Admin to give you the permission to set the Quota.

Actually i have access to the global administrator account, but I don't know where to set the permission...I can't see any panel where i could change rights...Or maybe i could change it somehow through console?

Check the setting of zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota for the domain admins ("Maximum quota (MB) administrator can specify" in the admin ui). It's probably unset.

Default zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota

Hi,
I have the same problem where the domain administrator cannot set the quota. How do you set the zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota? zmprov mcf zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota TRUE? Please advise.
Thanks.

zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota should contain an integer and is set on the users account you're trying to change quota on. I don't imagine this is the problem you're having as it's more likely the admin account you're using doesn't have the right permissions.

zmprov ga {user account} | grep -i zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota

to check current value.

Default Update

Matt,
Thanks for responding. The zmprov ga user_name | grep -i zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota, I got this "zimbraDomainAdminMaxMailQuota: 3145728000". It means he has permission to change the mail quota up to 3GB. Where should I change the permission so that he could alter the quota? He's a member of the zimbradomainadmins group that have the default privileges after the upgrade.
Thanks in advance,
PL

This may give the domain admin more permissions on the domain than you want. Login as them and you'll see what I mean.

zmprov grr domain {domain} usr {domain admin} domainAdminRights

Alternatively just give them the configure quota ability (they might need the get mailbox info ability too so they can see the current quota, I forget):

zmprov grr domain {domain} usr {domain admin} configureQuota
zmprov grr domain {domain} usr {domain admin} getMailboxInfo

The zmprov grr domain {domain} usr {domain admin} configureQuota did the trick. Again, thanks for your help.
