Query about deleting email from Zimbra using outlook

Hi
My school has recently gone over to Zimbra mail and the head teacher want to use outlook to view and save her emails to a pc. The problem is that her zimbra account is limited to 100mb and she is constantly having to login to zimbra to delete mail. Is there any way that out look can be set up to download the messages and remove them from the Zimbra account?

You don't say which version of Zimbra is in use nor whether Outlook is connecting to the server via IMAP or the Zimbra Connector for Outlook. If it's IMAP or the ZCO then the simple answer would be to use POP3 which will delete the messages when downloaded. That isn't, however, a very good approach as there'll be a day when an important email has been removed from Outlook and won't be available on the server. The most appropriate solution would be to increase the Quota to something more realistic, HD space is inexpensive and should be used as the solution to this problem.

Sorry for not being detailed it is using the ZCO, unfortunately we can't control the disk space as this is managed by the LEA and requests to increase capacity have fell on deaf ears. Outlook Version is 2002

Unfortunately it's not possible using the ZCO - mail is meant to be left on the server with a local copy on the user computer.
