Default HELP MX record cannot deliver mail

HELP My mx record is not working right. here is what I get

How I am searching:
Searching for mail.dandcserver.net MX record at m.root-servers.net [202.12.27.33]: Got referral to J.GTLD-SERVERS.net. (zone: net.) [took 87 ms]
Searching for mail.dandcserver.net MX record at J.GTLD-SERVERS.net. [192.48.79.30]: Got referral to dnsserver2.dandcserver.net. (zone: dandcserver.net.) [took 202 ms]
Searching for mail.dandcserver.net MX record at dnsserver2.dandcserver.net. [69.205.175.150]: Reports that no MX records exist. [took 48 ms]

Answer:
No MX records exist for mail.dandcserver.net. [Neg TTL=86400 seconds]

Details:
dnsserver2.dandcserver.net. (an authoritative nameserver for dandcserver.net.) says that there are no MX records for mail.dandcserver.net.
The E-mail address in charge of the dandcserver.net. zone is: hostmaster@dandcserver@net.

There is no need to refresh the page -- to see the DNS traversal, to make sure that all DNS servers are reporting
the same results, you can Click Here.

Note that these results are obtained in real-time, meaning that these are not cached results.
These results are what DNS resolvers all over the world will see right now (unless they have cached information).

I can post my zone file or anything else. I would appricate anyones help

Have a look at this DNS thread - that should tell you what you need to know about setting your files. I'm assuming that you are using a local copy of BIND rather than public DNS host. Post some details of what you're doing if you still have problems.

for some reason the zimbra installer either takes fqdn or takes hostname+resolv.conf search suffix default, then does an mx record against that fqdn. however, very few people set an mx record for the mx A record, its far more common to do it against the domain.

try the dns lookup again, where you were trying mail.dandcserver.net, try dandcserver.net.
