Default [SOLVED] Single Address disappears from Search and Autocomplete

The weekend before last we upgraded our Zimbra server instance from ZCS NETWORK v5.0.15 (GA 2851) to v6.0.7 (GA 2473).

Since then we have been getting reports from users where each person will have one (and it appears to be only one) contact which is in their address book but will neither appear in either autocomplete or in search results.

Searches were done with either the name or email address.

Emails received from this person are recognize to the contact card. The name in those emails can be right-clicked on to reveal the contact.

Both the contact's name and email address do not contain any special characters.

Has anyone else experienced this? I am filing a bug report (Nr. 50221) also.

Thanks! -Cheers, Peter.

There are definitely some known issues with address auto-complete and Zimbra version 6.0.x. Things got really bad in 6.0.6, but there was a patch release (6.0.6.1) and then the subsequent full release 6.0.7 that addressed most of the problems. However, it appears that there are still some outstanding issues with 6.0.7. See the thread Autocomplete broken 6.0.7 for more info. Not sure if the recently released 6.0.8 fixes anything or not.

Hi soxfan,

Would there be any issue with me trying:
zmprov rim user@domain ?

Supposedly, upgrading from v5 to v6.0.8 now automatically does a reindex. Since I upgraded to v6.0.7, I was thinking maybe I should do this manually for the users having issues.

I just want to make sure that running this does not have any other adverse consequences...

Thanks! -Cheers, Peter.

I've never run the "re-index mailbox" function via 'zmprov'; always through the Admin Console. Not sure it will fix your auto-complete issues, but don't know of any reason why you shouldn't give it a shot. Maybe just do one account first by itself to see if it helps the auto-complete issue.

Hi soxfan,

FYI... The reindex worked to solve the problem. It took a while to get to this point as our 'converd' daemon was broken in the upgrade... as if one problem wasn't enough. ;-)

The syntax is:
zmprov rim user@domain start
zmprov rim user@domain status

Thanks. -Cheers, Peter.
