Question Problem at update with zimbra 6.0.7 -> zimbra 6.0.8

Hi!

At me a problem at update with zimbra 6.0.7 (zcs-6.0.7_GA_2473.F11+zcs-patch-6.0.7_GA_2476) on zimbra 6.0.8 (zcs-6.0.7_GA_2473.F11).
At update there is a following error:
..................
LDAPAMAVISPW=zmamavis
LDAPNGINXPW=zmnginx
Restoring existing configuration file from /opt/zimbra/.saveconfig/localconfig.xml...done

This is perl, v5.10.0 built for i386-linux-thread-multi

Release 6.0.7_GA_2473.F11_20100616212224 UNKNOWN FOSS edition.

Zimbra never install on pure redhat (or centos etc). Only on Fedora. Before update happened without problems. It seems to me that it has happened because of a patch zcs-patch-6.0.7_GA_2476.

I ask to help

I don't really understand what you're saying here, the Build version of Zimbra Open Source for Fedora 11 is 2611 as shown here:

Code:
zcs-6.0.8_GA_2661.F11.20100820040327.tgz
Is that the file you've actually used to do the update?

I also don't understand what you mean by that statement, Zimbra installs perfectly well on RHEL or CentOS and without any problems.

I update to the version zcs-6.0.8_GA_2661.F11. I was simply described in the version name.

Pay attention on to an output of the error:
"Restoring existing configuration file from/opt/zimbra/.saveconfig/localconfig.xml... done
Errno architecture (i386-linux-thread-multi-2.6.18-164.2.1.el5) does not match executable architecture (i386-linux-thread-multi-2.6.18-194.3.1.el5) at/opt/zimbra/zimbramon/lib/i386-linux-thread-multi/Errno.pm line 11."

Pay attention on "i386-linux-thread-multi-2.6.18-164.2.1.el5". How it can be?

Wild guess: Any chance you updated the kernel at one time and did not reboot? The minor versions (-164.2.1.el5 vs. -194.3.1.el5) don't match...

Hope that helps,
Mark

The kernel name in the error text says that this kernel of system of type RHEL.
At me Zimbra is on Fedora and never was on RHEL.

Sorry if I didn't make myself clear: the error you quoted can be interpreted to mean that there is a kernel mismatch between the version of the kernel that is running on the system and the version of the kernel called by Zimbra from disk.

This can happen when you update a kernel and don't reboot. That's why I asked if you had applied a kernel update to the system, probably as part of a group of packages needing updating, and didn't reboot the system.

Please reboot the system, try again, and let us know!

Hope that helps,
Mark
