Question two ips pointing to the same mail.domain.com

...is this a bad idea?
what are the pros/cons about this type of setup?

a mx lookup of mail.domain.com shows both mx ip addresses...
does one need to be set to a higher priority?

believe me this wasn't an choice, I had no other option but to set it up like this.

Any insight would help, thanks.

56.5.5.489 \

56.5.5.421 /

both public ips, using the firewall nat directed to an internal IP.

Load Balancing Incoming Email Using DNS MX Records

Based on the link above, I guess it's all good!

Seams like I have a load balance setup!
