Default Sending Notifications through Web Applications

I have a web application that is currently using my Mail Enable server for emailing notifications via SMTP.

Do I need Zimbra Network Edition to be able to perform that task?

I tried to get it to work....but it was unsuccessful. I was reading somewhere how Network Edition was required to be able to use the outlook connector.....So I'm guessing the same goes for this?

No, why would you?

What does the Zimbra Connector for Outlook have to do with your requirement? Did you search the forums (you should) for sending an email via a web application?

I'm not implying that one has to do with another. It just seemed that since ne was required for the Outlook to connect......that just maybe it was needed for any other application to connect......Hense my question.

The answer is still no, NE isn't needed. Any application can send and email to your server on port 25.
