Avoid/Hide the username in the GAL

Hello,

In our company with use this email format:

username: jsmith
official email: john.smith@

Although, the username shows up always in the GAL. Is there any possibility to hide this and show only the aliase?

You could try selecting the Hide in Gal option for the account in the Admin GUI.

If you do this, I would expect an actual Alias for the account to be hidden as well.

However as a workaround, you could create a distribution list containing just that user.

If I'm not mistaken there have been a few other threads on this or related issues--have you tried searching?
