Change Log files Location.

Hello everyone, I have disk space problems at the root of my system. Is there a safe way to change directories to save the log files?

Update: I runnning "Release 5.0.7_GA_2444.RHEL5_64_20080626020449 RHEL5_64 FOSS edition".
