    Default Extract messages from offline server

    if the zimbra service is not running, is there an easy way to extract the messages for a particular user?

    The reason I asked is that I recently needed to remove files from an old backup of a zimbra server (not backed up using the zimbra tools), and I would like to copy some files out. this is just from a chroot on my desktop workstation.

    Is the /opt/zimbra/store just a set of maildirs? If so, how do I find out which one contains the e-mails that I want?

    The Mysql Email account ID is associated with the directory number for a user. So you can do a query like,
    SELECT id,comment FROM zimbra.mailbox WHERE comment='' ORDER BY comment
    the id returned should correspond to the directory number for that user.
