    Guys it seems the memory upgrade and all settings in the Perf Guideline did not help.

    I looked upon /opt/zimbra/log/mailbox.log

    And found no errors but the line under seems to complain about sql request being slowly processed;

    2010-08-18 12:27:44,684 INFO [ImapServer-6540] [name=hep@blablabla.com;mid=311;ip=10.60.10.150;] sqltrace - Slow execution (2538ms): SELECT mi.id, mi.type, mi.parent_id, mi.folder_id, mi.index_id, mi.imap_id, mi.date, mi.size, mi.volume_id, mi.blob_digest, mi.unread, mi.flags, mi.tags, mi.subject, mi.name, mi.metadata, mi.mod_metadata, mi.change_date, mi.mod_content FROM mboxgroup11.mail_item AS mi WHERE mailbox_id = 311 AND id = 75841

    Any suggestions is welcome.

    Thanks you guys!

    Did you just change settings for Java? If you're hitting slow queries, I'd also look at changing MySQL memory allocation: Performance Tuning Guidelines for Large Deployments - Zimbra :: Wiki

    Hi Y@w,

    I did check all setting for Java and MySQL and all is by the guidelines;

    mailboxd_thread_stack_size = 256k
    mailboxd_java_heap_memory_percent = 30
    mailboxd_java_heap_new_size_percent = 25
    mailboxd_java_options = -server -Djava.awt.headless=true -XX:+UseConcMarkSweepGC -XX:NewRatio=2 -XX:PermSize=128m -XX:MaxPermSize=128m -XX:SoftRefLRUPolicyMSPerMB=1 -verbose:gc -XX:+PrintGCDetails -XX:+PrintGCTimeStamps -XX:+PrintGCApplicationStoppedTime

    innodb_buffer_pool_size = 2048000000
    innodb_open_files = 2710
    innodb_max_dirty_pages_pct = 10
    innodb_flush_method = O_DIRECT

    The server now have 8Gb of RAM.

    Hi Steeve,

    Actually, the wiki recommends going a bit higher with the innodb_buffer_pool_size setting. It recommends going to 3435973840 (almost 150% higher) on a system with 8G of memory. Try that and see if it helps. I bet it makes everything much faster, even if it doesn't help this problem . I'd also suggest watching /opt/zimbra/log/myslow.log for more slow queries while the server is slow. I'm guessing that you're just hitting some sort of bottleneck.

    Also, do you have any performance graphs? If not, get some They'll be invaluable, especially any I/O graphs you can get since you're looking at slow queries and no noticeable errors in the logs.

    The documentation is sparse, but you can generate and have a look at Zimbra's performance graphs if nothing else: Analyzing Performance Graphs - Zimbra :: Wiki

    We use Cacti for graph performance. Network and IO run at an avg of 1Mb/sec which is a breeze...

    But SNMP ucd Load avg (OID .1.3.6.1.4.1.2021.10.1.3.1) blow off the roof at around 200% on Monday and oscillate around 120% today. CPU usage which is about the same stat followed the same pattern...

    Thanks!

    I changed innodb_buffer_pool_size to 3435973840 but it still see slow sqltrace;
    Slow execution (3008ms)

    I restarted zimbra, so things run smoothly right now but I just have 88 connections... I monitor it and let you know of the myslow.log...

    Back to slowness... in the 150 connections. In really seems to degrade...
    myslow.log is piling up in slow request...

    Geez... It seems like the CPU go crazy when the process exceed 120. The offender in Mailboxd of course;

    Is the CPU spending time waiting for I/O? If so, what kind of disks are under this?

    I doubt of it the IO is just at 1Mb/s which way behind the max through of the controller. I fact CPU is not idle it run a max
