Default Apple Mail - GAL lookup returns Aliases

Hi all,

we have some MAC users doing a anonymouns LDAP bind to the Zimbra Server for GAL lookups in their native Apple mail app. Everything was working ok until some of them switched to snow leopard (MAC OS 10.6).

The users on MAC OS 10.6 report that GAL lookups now yield the wrong address for accounts that have one or more aliases. In that case one of the aliases is returned and not the "real" account address....

Server version is 6.0.5 (Network Edition).

Is this a known issue and/or can someone confirm this behavior? Is there a workaround? I could not find anything in the forums or in bugzilla...

Regards
Thomas

Hi ewilen,

thanks for the feedback. The distribution list workaround is ok. I stumbled upon various problems with aliases in the past - although this special behavior of MAC OS X 10.6 was new to me (as 10.5 behaved different).

Thanx and regards
