Reminder showing incorrect data

Reoccurring appointment created in December 09.
Facts:
* it's popping at the right time before an appointment
* the current appointment is modified from original schedule
* reminder shows wrong date (Feb)--and that i'm 5 months late for appt
* "open instance" loads the original--Dec 09 (not the one that it *should* be showing OR the one that it says it's showing for, February)

I've been looking around bugzilla and these forums, haven't found something specifically like this... anyone else experienced this?
