Unhappy Wrong "From:" Address

I've Zimbra 6.0.7.
One user need al external pop account.

I've configured it on preferences and almost all work.

Problem is From field.

User account for external pop is user+domain.it
so in From I set "First Last name" and "user@domain.it".
On drop-down menu there are only zimbra email so I add correct email by hand.

Sending messare from this account "From:" field appear as username (user+domain.it) and not according with "From" field specification.

Any chance of a screenshot? I dont see the problem, you say that the users email address is "user+domain.it" and that's what is appearing in the From field, so there's no problem there is there?

Secondly, "user+domain.it" is not close to a valid email address.

user+domain.it isn't mail address!!!!!

user+domain.it is the username of external pop account.
Zimbra shoes on "form:" field of email the username of external account otherwise it has to show the string specified on "From Field setting" of external account.

I'm sorry, can you tell me what you are actually seeing, and also what you expect to be seeing so I can understand the problem please.

Well that bugzilla report seems to be about this same issue, so it will be progressed in there.
While that's happening, I'd suggest looking at a way to drop pop3 support anyway, causes nothing but trouble in my opinion.

My boss don't want to abbandone ISP so I can't user drectly zimbra for mail delivery.

If external pop3 disappear in zimbra I have to leave zimbra... :'(

Zimbra will likely always support retrieval of email from an external pop3 server, no worries on that score.

Having email delivered directly to your server is generally going to give you better results though, but if your boss wont let you make that decision then thats ok.

Looks like it'll just be a case of waiting for a patch.
