Appointment Status: Red or Orange Bars?

We just got upgraded to version 6.0.7, from 6.06. In the new version, a "bar" has been added to the left side of appointments to indicate new/accepted/declined. The bar seems to be orange/red/white.

Is this a user configurable option? Or an administrative configurable option? Can anyone point me to more information on this feature?

i don't think it's configurable (the colors that is)
