Unhappy Cannot remove a non-existent member from a distribution list

We recently had a visitor working in our organization and had added their email address to one of our distribution lists. There was no problem in adding an email address of a non-existent member.

Now the visitor has finished their stay and I need to remove their address from our distribution list and find I am unable to do so. When I attempt to save the changes to the distribution list, I get a pop-up 'Server Error Encountered' with this message detail:
Message: non-existent members: visitor@external.org in distribution list: distributionlist@my.org
Error code: account.NO_SUCH_MEMBER Method: RemoveDistributionListMemberRequest Details:soap:Sender
Is there another method available for removing this visitor's email address from our distribution list?

Did you try using the command line? It would be something like

Code:
zmprov removeDistributionListMember distributionlist@your.org visitor@external.org

I appreciate the suggestion but unfortunately I had tried with both the Zimbra Administrator interface and the cli <zmprov rdlm distributionlist@your.org visitor@external.org> with the same result.

I suppose I could mark this as solved now because I ultimately accomplished the task but only by deleting the distribution list and re-creating it without the third party address but I am interested in whether there is a solution for this problem or if it is a bug that needs attention.

I suspect it is a bug in that there is no complaint in adding a third-party address to a list, yet it cannot be removed.

Hmm is your profile up-to-date (still on 6.0.6)?

Did you happen to get a list of the distribution list members from zmprov before deleting it?

(seems to work fine for me on 6.0.7)

Yes, Profile is current: Release 6.0.6_GA_2324.SLES10_64_20100406172208 SLES10_64 FOSS edition

I did get the distribution list membership prior to deleting it. There was not really much trouble to re-create it being that there were only 40 or so members but it just doesn't seem right to have to drop and recreate the distribution list in order to remove the third party addressee.
