Default Sync with Sony Ericsson Xperia X10

Hi,

I recently bought a Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 Mini Pro cell phone.
A truly nice little machine.
It has Android 1.6 installed.
Android has sync capability, but it does not work with zimbra.
Does anybody know if there's an manual for setup?
(the installed software "roadsync" works fine, but does not use android's built-in calendar and therefore it has to be manually started on each handy-boot)

That's a rather old release of Android isn't it? Current phones use 2.1 and 2.2 is just about to arrive.

It does work with Zimbra if you have a recent version of Android and an Exchange sync application (I assume Sony Ericsson have one on that phone?).

I think that question would be best addressed to the Sony Ericsson support forums or look on their support site for documentation.

Yes, 1.6 is pretty old - SE plans an upgrade in Q3 this year.
Zimbra cannot be synced with android out of the box? Is always a third party app neccessary?

The sync is provided by an Activesync (Exchange compatible) client, the Nokia range (for example) have MfE (Mail for Exchange) and you need to check if something similar is available on your phone. It is a third party application and isn't supplied as part of Android because the implementation is for a proprietary protocol.

Apparently there is: Sony Ericsson - Corporate - Products - Phoneportfolio - Specification - Xperia™ X10 mini (down near the bottom of the page) and check their site for documentation and set-up details although it's usually just enter your email address and password and the rest of the set-up is automatic.
