Default Moving location

our Zimbra instalation has about 85GB (Pilot). it takes us hours to copy the setup from location to location cause there is a huge amount of small files.

Is there a faster way to copy a complete Zimbra instalation from one computer to the other? would tar -> copy -> untar work faster than just copy?

thanks

As my experience, tar->copy->untar will faster than just copy. Another benefit you will get using tar is tar preserve the file rights.

If you copy it once, use tar is recommended. If it is recurred task, sugguest use rsync tool.
