Default Can't create non existent email account

Has anyone seen this before? Emails to the address are bounced back, but I can't create or delete the account:

zimbra@mta1:~$ zmprov ca jeffrey@ourdomain.com xxxxx
ERROR: account.ACCOUNT_EXISTS (email address already exists: jeffrey@ourdomain.com, at DN: uid=jeffrey,ou=people,dc=ourdomain,dc=com) (cause: javax.naming.NameAlreadyBoundException [LDAP: error code 68 - Entry Already Exists])
zimbra@mta1:~$ zmprov da jeffrey@ourdomain
ERROR: account.NO_SUCH_ACCOUNT (no such account: jeffrey@ourdomain.com)
zimbra@mta1:~$

Thanks,

Eric

No the ghost thing didn't help. There appears to be some partial info in ldap, what happens with ca/da, do they only intereact with the LDAP store, or do they check SQL and the actual store? Just need to know how to fixit, if I have to edit the LDAP only, or look somewhere else. I have a few accounts at this point with this issue, all start with the letters he, so there must be some corrupt section or something. I can add new user and delete other users fine.

Update: I did a restore of the openldap-data, and this still didn't fix it. I can't find the users via ldap search, can't delete via ldapdelete, I removed them from SQL, I removed their index and store dir's, did a db_recover. I'm getting a bit frustrated, I thought for sure the restore from backup would have fixed it up. Is there anywhere else this could be screwed up, still getting the exact same results as in the first post on this thead.

Any new ideas?

I can see the accounts just fine in the ldap dif, nothing looks wrong. I just can't see why these accounts are behaving this way, it must be some corruption as all the broken accounts start with the letters he.

Again, when I try, this has to be something crazy simple that I am just missing, other then these few accounts the server is running fine.

[zimbra@nfs2 log]$ zmprov ca heather08@domain.com Heather
ERROR: account.ACCOUNT_EXISTS (email address already exists: heather08@domain.com, at DN: uid=heather08,ou=people,dc=domain,dc=com)
[zimbra@nfs2 log]$ zmprov da heather08@domain.com
ERROR: account.NO_SUCH_ACCOUNT (no such account: heather08@domain.com)
