Default mail to user going to catchall

I'm showing mail to a user "lling" going to the catchall account. Usually the system will reject mail to unknown users and there is no "lling" on our system as a user. I'm wondering how I can blacklist these mails or have the system reject these just like any other non-user.

You have a contradiction in terms in that statement. You can't have a 'catchall' account and at the same time reject mail to unknown users, by definition the 'catchall' will catch all the email coming into the system and that's why spammers love them.

Yeah that makes sense. There are tons of messages in the logs being rejected because they are sent to non-existent accounts. However this one non-existent account "lling" goes to the catchall. I would think that would be rejected too.

It looks like the problem has to do with our domain name setup. Our server is set up as mail.domain.com but should be just domain.com. If I send mail to a non-existent user joeschmod@mail.domain.com it goes to the catchall. If I send to joeschmoe@domain.com it gets rejected properly. This server was set up this way before my time. Hard to change to just "domain.com" now. Dang!

Actually renaming the domain is very easy, go to the Zimbra :: Wiki and search for 'renameDomain'. Obviously that will depend on your current domain set-up and comes with the usual advice about backing up your server before making any drastic changes.
