Talking Would like to know too

Hi,

Interested in the same information like things to keep in mind and steps to take before the upgrade. Any important things to back up and tweaks for a successful upgrade. Thanks!

Thanks you very much for your reply.

Let me confirm one thing.

I already whole backup to another drive. But I need to know that I direct update Zimbra 6.0.7 version on current installed Zimbra version or first update 5.0.23 (last version of 5) and then update to 6.0.7...?

Confirm which step is advisable.

Thank you in advance.

Default

Once you have backup copy of /opt/zimbra (or built-in hot backups with ne), anything 5.0.2 or above can upgrade directly to 6.0.7.1

I think we've since eliminited most of the problem, but if going to a lower version make sure your commercial or self-signed certificates are valid/not expired first.

The available upgrade paths: 4.5.0 - 4.5.6 > 4.5.11 > (LDAP replica step) > 5.0.2 - 5.0.23 > 6.0.0 - 6.0.7

Talking Upgrade went well

Hi!

Thanks mmorse for the help. I did a safe upgrade from 6.0.3 Ne to 6.0.7. All went well and services are fine. Good job zimbra. This was on 32bit CentOS machine. All i did was take a full backup of accounts and held a backup of /opt/zimbra for precaution.

Thanks ayush1440 and keep posting.

Thumbs up ayush1440 and mmorse

Hi,

Just wanted to thank you guys, the upgrade on my main servers with rhel5 went well, one a 32-bit and other two 64-bit machines. Just had to follow the instructions in the install after taking backups of accounts(full backup) and /opt/zimbra. Thanks mmorse for your wonderful support in keeping the forum live and ayush1440, you too.

I applied this patch from mmorse's post for 6.0.7 after the upgrade. Well written, just followed the instructions there.
