Not running as in 'it's not started'. Is this a different server to the one you posted about in your first post?
    Regards

I think you've misunderstood me, I was talking about the zimbra services and whether they are running or not. You can see that by doing 'su - zimbra' then 'zmcontrol status'.

On the zimbra server you need to 'telnet localhost 25' and see if you can get a response and try it again by doing 'telnet serverip 25' & 'telnet servername 25' - obviously replace serverip & servername with the correct info. That will tell you if you can get to zimbra, if you then try that from another machine on the LAN and get no response you've got something wrong.
    Regards

    logger Running

The obvious next question is - why isn't the MTA running? That's why you can't send mail, is there another program running on port 25? Try the telnet check I mentioned before. If there is no other mail server running you'll have to check the logs to see why zimbra is stopped.
    Regards

I had the same problem where mta was not running.
I just made sure sendmail was not running as I forgot that part in the original installation.
I should actually go ahead and get rid of sendmail altogether..
