... just got feedback from Zimbra Support: The Error was caused by an Typo in the source code. The provided workaround fixed the issue for us:

    https://bugzilla.zimbra.com/show_bug.cgi?id=48129

    Workaround:

    1. Unset zimbraPop3BindAddress:

    Code:
    zmprov -l ms `zmhostname` zimbraPop3BindAddress ""
    2. Start/restart the mailbox server.

    Code:
    zmcontrol stop
    zmcontrol start
    3. If the problem was encountered during upgrade, re-run

    Code:
    /opt/zimbra/libexec/zmsetup.pl
as root to complete the upgrade.

Yes, the bug is fixed in the downloaded version as it was a typing error in the code .

If you are still having a problem you need to describe the problem in detail (including your server configuration) and look in the log files for any errors and post them here. You should also post the output of the following command (after you have stopped and restarted Zimbra):
    Code:
    zmcontrol status
    Regards

    Code:
    zmcontrol status
    [/QUOTE]

says me that mailboxd is not running. At zmcontrol start it looks like its ok, but a control status shows me that this service is down.

    My zimbra.log only says:
    Code:
Jun 28 12:50:14 xchange zmmailboxdmgr[7551]: assuming no other instance is running
Jun 28 12:50:14 xchange zmmailboxdmgr[7551]: file /opt/zimbra/log/zmmailboxd.pid does not exist
Jun 28 12:50:14 xchange zmmailboxdmgr[7551]: assuming no other instance is running
Jun 28 12:50:14 xchange zmmailboxdmgr[7551]: no manager process is running
    Jun 28 12:50:14 xchange zmmailboxdmgr[8053]: status requested
Jun 28 12:50:14 xchange zmmailboxdmgr[8053]: stale pid 27956 found in /opt/zimbra/log/zmmailboxd_manager.pid: No such process
...at the moment I resync the old 6.06 system from this morning

    Thumbs down

I have exactly the same issue, with Zimbra 6.0.6 upgrading to 6.0.7 (on CentOS 5.4).
I have to restore from a backup all the zimbra installation...If anyone got to solve the issue ,please, share it!!

Thx for your post! - Im not alone, thats great for me

The gag at this error is that I use the new rpmīs with my old /opt/zimbra folder!

    Everything works fine for me!

    Thumbs up Regenerate Certis

If you are still having a problem getting your mailbox server to start, you should regenerates your certificates. You might have followed this thread thinking your issue was a port binding issue with Pop3 but mine was not. It was certificates.

    As root do this:

    Code:
    cd /opt/zimbra/bin
    ./zmcertmgr createca -new
    ./zmcertmgr createcrt -new -days 365
    ./zmcertmgr deploycrt self
    ./zmcertmgr deployca
    ./zmcertmgr viewdeployedcrt
    su zimbra
    zmcontrol stop
    zmcontrol start
    zmcontrol status
