I had an issue with commercial cert install and 6.0.6 multiserver install. Is it a commercial cert thing? I found I had to untangle the symlinks and copy the certs over again before the install worked correctly. This is with geotrust wildcard certs.

I asked because
a) I remember upgrading from 5.x to 6.x it blew away my commercial certs and the keystore permissions were busted and I had a support case and a bug linked to it.
b) The first things my Zimbra support contact did today in relation to this issue was to play with the certs and verify them because he thought it died because of certs.
That lead me to believe that maybe btrudeau has come from an earlier version and now has two issues.
btrudeau, are you seeing log file entries about not being able to bind to port 143 during service start ?

The "blowing-away of commercial certs during upgrade" bug was fixed in 6.0.5 or something IIRC.
If you are already at 6.0.5 or above and upgrade today you may just have that "cant bind to port 143, I can't IMAP, I am freaking out and dying" issue that FritzBrause and I have.. Yet there are people who upgraded to 6.0.7 without problems. Must be a specific upgrade history or platform that's affected..
Anyway, Zimbra still rocks. I got support response time less than 5 mins and resolution (well, we are up but without IMAP) in less than 2 hours. And this box has been running forever. I think it was a 4.x originally. So there have been dozens of upgrades without incident.
I think we were overdue for some downtime.![]()
yeah i agree with the support - I just notified them of our pending upgrade. I am still waiting on a backup to finish anyway
I don't really want to break IMAP if we can help it, but we shall see. I am on Ubuntu 32 and 64bit multiserver install...

Just did an upgrade in our lab yesterday from ubuntu 8.06 / 64bit from 6.0.5 to 6.0.7 without issues.
We have 2 server setup (ldap / mailstore+mta) and we do NOT use external certs.
The server originated as 6.0.5, so no specific upgrade history.
best
