Default Buying Zimbra Network starter edition

Hi all,

A question concerning starter edition; at the moment we have a Zimbra mailserver with around 20 domains and around 200 users. Our main business is web-software and websites but sometimes we have customers that want some mailboxes on the same domain.
At the moment we use Zimbra open source edition (which we found very powerful and customisable, top class). Now, we have one of our better customers we sold an 'administrator' account to years ago. In our previous mailing program MailEnable professional, he had an account where he could, for his domain only, create, delete, modify,... mailboxes. In other words, he was domain administrator.

I figured, to have the domain administrator option we have to upgrade to Network edition. The only reason we would upgrade is for this single customer, but we don't want to let him down. I saw there is a version of the network edition, 'Starter Edition' at $399.

2 questions; can we upgrade easily? We have a Zimbra CS6 open source edition, one month old
Second question, can we keep everything as it is but buy the starter edition to have the domain administrator functionality?

Thanks in advance!

EDIT: admins, if I posted in the wrong forum, feel free to move this topic!

Both of your questions have already been answered in the forums, there's no difficulty in upgrading OSS versions to NE and all the settings/users are preserved. You would always be advised to backup your Zimbra installation before doing any upgrade.

Hi,

sorry for catching up this old thread. But how can I buy the Starter Edition online on zimbra.com. Because, if I'm right, the ActiveSync feature is now included, according to the comparison chart.

Bye

Go to the bottom of the Compare Products page and click on the 'Buy Network Edition Now' link.
