Default Virus not (immediately) detected

Hi,

I don't know if that is a configuration issue or a bug but the problem we have is pretty severe..

Basically when someone send us a virus, it is not detected and arrives in our Inbox like any other message like it did not got scanned; the strange thing being that if we move that message to the Junk mail, then it is scanned and we receive an Undelivered Mail Returned to Sender..

Pretty confusing for us.. is that something that makes sense for someone?

Thank you!

edit: the Undelivered Mail Returned to sender contains the Virus notice by ClamAV ("A virus was found: Suspect.Bredozip-zippwd-16").

Might be the case you have whitelisted the sender IP in mynetworks parameter.

Hi veronica,

I never white-listed any IP, but even if I did, shouldn't viruses be blocked anyway?

Any idea what else could cause this ?

Thank you!

If you whitelist all checks are bypassed.

Possibly Bug 45607 – Suspect.Bredozip-zippwd-13 .zip virus not detected

See the workaround in that bug, pending release of 6.0.7.
