Zimbra Toaster alternatives for Mac?

We recently upgraded to Zimbra 6.x from 5.x and have found that Zimbra Mac Toaster is broken with ZCS 6.x. Apparently, Zimbra has abandoned this feature and now considers Toaster community supported. We have a lot of users that relied on this for notifications that now have nothing. Is the "community supported" version being maintained? Has anyone found a suitable alternative?

I've seen a commercial product called Zimbra Notifier but that's windows only

I opened a support case on this and it would appear that Zimbra has abandoned Toaster and is not going to release it to the community for development. Since no third party appears to be developing a toaster alternative for Mac, complete lack of notification is a significant shortcoming for Mac Zimbra users. I'm still hoping to find an solution. Please chime in if you have any suggestions.

This is utterly ridiculous. Many folks on Macs relied on toaster in the status bar. Badges in the dock won't cut it if the dock is self-hiding... Let's bring it to the attention of Zimbra ASAP!

I had opened a support case on this and they responded that it is no longer supported and offered no alternative. Seems very shortsighted to me and represents a major inconvenience for many of our users.

In fact the way you could reply right from Toaster was unique. What would it take to make them pick it up again?

This isn't likely to happen, as mentioned in these forums and in various bug reports the toaster (Windows & MAC) will be open sourced - the Windows one is already on Sourceforge and the MAC will follow. If you're keen to get it working then I'd suggest you raise some support from the community for developing it further.

The source for the Mac version is up on sourceforge now but no installer. Not sure if it has been updated or if this broken version.
