Default Backing up Open Source Edition 6

Hi All - I'm running ZCS 6 Open Source edition on Ubuntu 8.04, and I'm looking for a way to back up the config, mailboxes, etc. This is a virtual machine, so I could just back up the entire VM on a regular basis, but I'm thinking I should back it up at the file level as well. Any suggestions? Is there a scripts I could run to stop services, backup files, and start services? Any help is appreciated. Thank You.
Scott

You'll also find details of backup scripts on the Zimbra :: Wiki front page.

The Wiki page on OSE backups says it applies to 4.5 & 5.0. Do you know if these scripts apply or have been tested on 6? Thanks in advance.

Yes, I believe that several people on the forums have used them. They are Community submissions to the wiki and are not tested by Zimbra, there should be no reason why they don't work as they just stop Zimbra then backup the /opt/zimbra directory structure but I must add them you use them at your own risk. If you're going to use them make sure you understand how they work and also how you can restore your system in a Disaster Recovery situation - you should test it before you need it. There's also several threads in the forums that cover these procedures so have a search for them.
