searching scope in GAL?

Dear all,

when composing a new email, we can pick and search the GAL by clicking "To:" button. and my question is : what user's information can be searched from the menu? is it just the 'displayName' and 'email address' ?

when we create user's account, we put some detailed personal info (such as department info) into their "Description" attribute. can this attribute be searched??
