Default Anti Spam working

Hi,

I am a newbie on Zimbra. We have setup zimbra server for the emails but most of the users important emails are going into the Junk Mail folder due to the Antispam Filter. I have found the Spam checking Settings in Global Settings – AS/AV. Could someone tell me what are the best Kill Percent & Tag Percent? So that we got the important emails and get rid of the Junk mails. Currently its Kill Percent = 50 & Tag percent = 20.

Also tell me how it actually works. Should I increase the percentages or decrease it to control the spam. I really appreciate if some could help me in this regard.

Thanks

Welcome to the forums

Zimbra MTA - Zimbra :: Wiki

The defaults are kill @ 75% and tag @ 33%. As 100% refers to a SpamAssassin score of 20 in your situation you would:

Kill if a email has a score of 20 x .5 = 10
Tag if a email has a score of 20 x .20 = 4

You should really set them back to the defaults as the tag is pretty low.

Thank you for your suggestions I have updated my settings as you suggests let c how it work now. I just want to know one more thing how to control the intensity of anti-spam filter should I increase the percentage to decrease the intensity level or visa versa also is there any way that I can totally disable the spam filter for certain users.

I would really appreciate all ur help in this regard.
