Unhappy Sometimes mails are delivered to wrong account

    Hello,

the following problem exists since first's Zimbra 6 release, also with release 6.0.6:

Very sporadically, emails for recipient xy are not delivered to xy's mailbox, but to my personal one. Today, this also happened with intermal Zimbra emails - the daily status reports shall be sent to admin@..., but were delivered to my user account.

Does anyone have an idea why this sometimes happens? Usually I would say "That a definite no-go", but maybe there is an easy fix for this?

    Kind regards,
    M.

You need to post some headers from an email that was delivered to the 'wrong' account. I find it hard to believe that's happening so have you checked if there's any mail filters that may be doing this?
    Regards

I changed my server ip and replaced my domains and recipient's user name.

The Sony mailserver sent the email to "other_user@other_domain" which was the correct recipient. But in the end, it was delivered to me, "mcs@my_domain".
Another piece of information: Sending to "other_user@my_domain" should also result in delivery to other_user's mailbox.

    I am at a loss

Something strange about your headers...the spam/AV headers appear in the middle of the Received headers. On my install, they always appear after all the Received headers. (EDIT: Nix that--see below.)

Also, have you tried looking at /var/log/zimbra.log?

Well, I wonder if already the Sony MTA changed the domain of the recipient, or if it was rewritten by Zimbra.

Next time when this happens, I will have a close look at the zimbra log. The last time, I did not find anything suspicious (at least in my eyes).

Sorry, I have to correct my earlier post. It turns out my mail client (Mac Mail) was reordering the headers.

Keep us updated on anything you find. If it's a bug, I'd like to have it identified & fixed ASAP.

It could be that the your account has been set as a forwarder for that account. Forwarded message headers also look similar.

    Hi Guys,
i have the same problem. I have 35 external Pop3 Accounts for 35 Users and sometimes get one of it to a wrong user (always the same wrong user). The Mail Header looks normal.
There any news for this problem ?

EDIT: I have explored the wrong delivering of Mails isnt a zimbra problem. I have found wrong delivers for months ago where has no Zimbra installed.
