Default Backup issues in the Network Edition

Hello,

I am aware of the "online backup feature" of the Network
Edition, but nevertheless we are required to backup
"Zimbra-data" to tape.

Since we are currently introducing a new backup application
we would like to know in advance what Zimbra configuration
files and what "data-files" to backup.

Thank's a lot for any feedback!

John

The recommended solution is to do an online backup to a 2nd drive in the local machine. The user rsync or a tape robot to copy the backup to another place.

Thank's Kevin,

what is the default path on the second drive ZCS writes
it's online backup to? (I am asking that, because we did
not yet install the network edition, but are in the process
of introducing a new backup application and therefore
we are required to make the the backup schedule already
today).

Thank you very much!

John

I think it goes to /opt/zimbra/backups but you can change it to anything you want. Try like /backups that way it's clear it's not in /opt with the rest of the Zimbra code.
