Default [SOLVED] Out of office 'Away' message not working

Hey,

So we have a recruiting email address setup (under account->preferences) which should return an 'away' message to people who email it, stating we have received the email etc.

The cache date is set to 0, which is forever, meaning it will always send an away message, no matter what, correct?

It is not working - what else could be looked at as to why this is isn't working correctly?

It's not working as in it doesn't send any messages or only sends one? Have you also checked the log files to see if anything is being sent?

You should also update your forum profile with the output of the following command:

Code:
zmcontrol -v

I don't believe anything has sent because no one has received the away message.

This is the only email account which is having any problem sending an email (assuming it is actually sending the away message). We've tested it a number of times and never received a receipt.

I'm seeing this in mailbox.log

lmtp - accepted and discarded message for recruiting@xxxxx.com: local delivery is disabled

Another point to add is that any mail forwarded to recruiting@xxxxx.com is automatically forwarded to three other @xxxxx.com email addresses. Does this interfere with the away message?

My guess is that because you have local delivery disabled for this account, and email is being forwarded to three other accounts the "Out of Office" message won't be processed. Should be easy enough to test. Just un-check the box that disables local delivery at least temporarily. You can still forward the email and deliver the message locally to that account. If the "Out of Office" message works after you enable local delivery you can probably set up some type of filter / rule to empty the mailbox so that it won't just build up there.
