AV/AS disabled, all messages in deferred queue

Hi all,

Since 4/16 my clamav is not running anymore and i have to disable av/as on the server until my clamav gets upgraded. However when i uncheck av/as on zimbra GUI and reload mta, all messages are still stuck in the deferred queue waiting to connect to amavis service.



Any suggestion?

Another question, while upgrading clamav, i stuck in make check.

Please post your Zimbra version on your profile.

1. You must restart your Zimbra service after disabling AS/AV

su - zimbra
zmcontrol stop
zmcontrol start

2. You do not need recompile ClamAV if you wish to update your ClamAV into version 0.95.1. Follow this link : ClamAV - Updating clamd for releases earlier than ZCS 5.0.16 - Zimbra :: Wiki for more information

Following example using SLES 10 32 bit :

su - zimbra
cd /opt/zimbra
wget -c http://files2.zimbra.com/downloads/clamav/susees10/clamav-0.95.1.tgz
tar -zxvf clamav-0.95.1.tgz
zmcontrol stop
rm clamav
ln -s clamav-0.95.1 clamav
ls -l clamav
zmcontrol start

Note, for me turning off Clam and restarting Zimbra wasn't enough, you need to reboot the entire server. Once I did that it starting working through the 10K odd queued emails.

However, whoever who thought that causing Clam to stop working completely was a good idea should be taken outside & shot. Total idiot.
