| | | [SOLVED] Outbound E-mail Not Working Hello,
This morning outbound e-mail stopped functioning completely. No changes have been made recently except Windows Updates on our Windows servers the night prior. Inbound e-mail, from external sources, is working just fine. I'm very new to Zimbra and am at a loss on what I can do to troubleshoot this. I've rebooted the Zimbra server 3 times now to no effect.
I'm not sure what info I need to list and I'm unsure of how to find the Zimbra version I'm using.
Any help would be appreciated,
Thanks!

| | Have you checked the /var/log/maillog file to see if there are any error messages? That's where I would start. If you find any there - bring them back here if you're not sure what they indicate.

| | | Thank you for the reply.
I opened the mail.log and all it says is "=====Log File is empty====="
I did open the system.log and found this, which seemed important:
zmmailboxdmgr[19835]: no manager process is running.

| | | Found out some new info that should help us through this. My Zimbra server actually uses another Mac server as the SMTP relay. I went on that server, and within the Mail service, I can see a bunch of e-mail stuck in the SMTP queue. I then opened up the mail.log on the gateway server and here's what it says:
451-4.5.0 Error in processing, id=11389-11-18, virus_scan FAILED: virus_scan: All VIRUS SCANNERS FAILED: ClamAV-clamd av-scanner FAILED: CODE(0x800ea0) Too many retrieds to talk to /var/amavis/clamd (Can't connect to UNIX socket /var/amavis/clamd: No such file or directory) at (eval 42) line 310, at (eval 42) line 511.; ClamAV-clamscon av-scanner FAILED: /usr/bin/clamscan unexpected 3exit 50, output=

| | | That most definitely is what the issue is....EOL on the ClamAV. Who would have known....
I'm working on getting it updated right now. Will let you know if it resolves the issue.

| | | I wasn't able to upgrade the ClamD, nor would the service shut off due to a database error (weird...), but in the end I fixed it by disabling AV scanning on all Outbound mail via the SMTP service on the Mac OS.
Thanks for all of your help, I can enjoy the weekend in peace now!
