Ok, I tried this both by restarting networking and by a full shutdown -- same result.
/etc/hosts
06:07:41 root on sls-ce8p18 in ~ |}> cat /etc/hosts
# Do not remove the following line, or various programs
# that require network functionality will fail.
::1 localhost6.localdomain6 localhost6
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
66.36.231.94 nazihunters.net nazihunters
06:07:33 root on sls-ce8p18 in ~ |}> host `hostname`
Host sls-ce8p18.dca2.superbservers.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
And zmcontrol start still give the same messages, starting with the ldap one.
Your /etc/resolv.conf is pointing to a name server that is returning your DSL address. Have checked externally and your forward and reverse lookups are fine for the domain. Please post your /etc/resolv.conf.
06:31:57 root on sls-ce8p18 in ~ |}> cat /etc/resolv.conf
domain dca2.superbservers.com
search dca2.superbservers.com
nameserver 66.36.226.50
nameserver 207.228.225.50
nameserver 207.228.226.50
Well that says your base domain name is dca2.superbservers.com. Both domain and search should be set to your server domain name; and the nameservers should reply with the correct forward and reverse information as per /etc/hosts.
We update our resolv.conf so that we correctly resolve to our hostname
12:31:05 root on sls-ce8p18 in /opt/zimbra |}> host `hostname`
nazihunters.net has address 66.36.231.94
nazihunters.net mail is handled by 0 mail.nazihunters.net.
But things still won't work.
Thanks for all your help, uxbod. At this point, anyone who does this for a living please pm me I think I need "expert help" to login to our machine.
Bump:
Anyone?
Update:
One of the Zimbra employees (Quanah) was super helpful and helped me sort out an issue with the ldap module, but now mailbox won't start
at org.mortbay.xml.X - Anonymous - eeyngNFQ - Pastebin.com is the contents of zmmailboxd.out generated by
1) running tail -f zmmailboxd.out > tmp
2) running zmmailboxdctl start
It looks like it has an error when it tries to bind to the http ports (443 and 80) ? But running netstat and iptables show nothing blocking those ports.

Have you gotten anywhere with this one? We are having the same error with "zmmailboxdctl is not running".
Thanks.
Yes
We re-ran the upgrade, which caused most things to start working, but somehow our mysql passwords were out of sync after re-running the upgrade. There's a wiki article on re-setting them.
