Question Zimbra Server HD Failure - Backwards Sync from Zimbra Desktop?

The hard disk on my server failed last week during transfer to a new server. Initially I thought all messages that didn't make the transfer before the HD failure were lost (unless I wanted to send the drive out for recovery). However, I realized today that I still have all my messages on my client machine which runs Zimbra Desktop (because ZD copies all mailbox contents locally and just periodically sync's with the server).

So my question is, how can I sync these messages from Zimbra Desktop back to the server? If I log in to the Zimbra client web interface I'll get error messages on those e-mails which didn't make the transfer--this tells me that they are missing on the server but not on my client machine.

One option would be to export the files from ZD and take that and import it using the ZWC. You might wind up with unwanted folders (such as the Outbox) but at least you'll have all your stuff back in the server... I'm thinking this would have to be done on a per-user basis.

Another option would be to use something similar to the methods found on the wiki under Mail Migration to do it. But this is a shot in the dark, I've never tried it and can't guarantee it will work.

I don't know how this will affect the following sync back to ZD. You might end up with duplicate messages on the desktop.
