Buried in logger logs

looking in /zimbra/logger/db/data, I appear to have about 6GB of logs going back more than 60 days. This for a mail server supporting 10 users, and total (combined) mailbox sizes of under 1 GB.

Some of these logs reach 50MB per day (we have a fair amount of inbound'/outbound traffic)

1. Is there a downside to deleting a pile of the earlier domain-bin.0000xx logfiles?

2. Is there a way to have logger only keep a rolling 30 days worth of logs. I can't find anything in the documentation or forums.
(but my search-fu may not be up to par.)

Not to be a pest, but I'd like to hear some type of answers here.

I'm most interested in how to put some type of limits on the size of some of these logs.

Have you tried to have a look at newsyslog ?

man newsyslog and man newsyslog.conf might help.
