I'd just like to confirm that I am understanding this correctly. On a Mac, using Microsoft Entourage 2004 or 2008, if I have a message highlighted and choose the junk button, which marks the message as junk and moves it to the "Junk" folder, then that is all I have to do for Zimbra to learn from that message?

And, if I do the opposite, which un-marks it as junk and moves it to the "Inbox," then Zimbra automatically will learn that as "ham?"

Thanks,

kazoo

As long as Entourage is moving the message to the Junk folder, that's my understanding. You could check by seeing where the message appears in the web client.

Personally I wouldn't use Entourage with Zimbra since Entourage can't take advantage of Zimbra's scheduling features. Thunderbird/Lightning or Mail/iCal have more compatibility with what Zimbra does.

Yes, you're correct. You can confirm this by going in through your Admin GUI and checking the inbox for your spam and ham training accounts. They will show the messages have been sent there by the action of your moving them in/out of your junk folder.

Yeah, if you have admin access you can click on the spam or ham training account and then click "view mail" at the top of the account list. This should show all submissions since the last time training occurred, if I'm not mistaken. (Training happens 1 time/24 hrs by default, I believe.)

If you don't have admin access, then the next best thing would be to use the web client and just see where Entourage is moving the message there.
