Default Zimbra DnD ( Drag and Drop ) Extension 6.0.6?

Ok - we upgraded to 6.0.6 - and the DnD extension is supposed to work with this release now.. Whats the trick to getting it to work? and where do we download the latest extension? I tried getting the extension from the zimlets section on the main zimbra.com site - but that combined with 6.0.6 does not give us a working drag and drop in Firefox 3.6.3 ..

    So what's the solution?

    Thanks!

UPDATE - We deployed the new zimlet com_zimbra_dndext.zip located in the zimbra/zimlet-extras folder - DnD now has reverted to only working in the same window and no longer works in new windows which was fixed in a previous version of 6.x .. So in my opinion this is still broke..

We actually just did that after looking in the zimlet-extra's folder.. However.. DnD is still broken when composing in a new window which was fixed in a previous version now is broken again.. This is not going to make some of our users happy. Sigh...

Also is this documented someplace? Only thing I could find was the bug report.

What are you actually seeing ? I have switched my preferences to always compose in a new window; opened a new email, clicked on add attachment, and I was able to D'n'D into each ?

    This are my experiences:

    FF 3.6.2:
-Compose inline: works, dnd text appears
    -Compose new window: don't work
    -Briefcase: don't work

    FF 3.0.18 and FF 3.5.5:
-Compose inline: works, NO dnd text appears
-Compose new window: works, NO dnd text appears
    -Briefcase: don't work

This is what shows up when not using "Compose in new window"

That does NOT show up when composing in a new window. It was fixed in a previous release of 6.0.x but now it no longer shows up with 6.0.6 and the fixes to support Firefox 3.6.x.

We are not trying to attach using the "Add attachments" button - because we do not want to sit and upload files one at at a time.. Our users want to select a LOT of files at once and drag and drop them like before... But they all have "Compose in new window" set, and we're happy when it finally worked in new windows..

No wonder they didn't really let anyone outside their private testing area test this.. the bugs would have never been closed.. There is NO way these should have been marked as working if they still have regressions and break features that were previously fixed.. :S

    I'm using

Windows Firefox 3.6.3 - and my results are now:
-Compose inline: works, dnd text appears
    -Compose new window: don't work
    -Briefcase: don't work

    Unhappy Back to the future

    Okay, we're getting closer.

Upon upgrading to v6.0.6, I noticed the new zimlet, com_zimlet_dndext.zip. But no documentation or announcement anywhere what this is for, how it works, whether it needed to be deploy along side the standard DnD zimlet or by itself.

Been told in another thread that the new zimlet removes the need to install the XPI in 3.6.x. Is this true?

I've tried it all ways and here are the results using various Firefox versions

    *Linux Ubuntu 9.10
    FF 3.6.7 - embedded composer - fails
    - separate window composer - fails
    FF3.6.4pre - embedded composer - fails
    - separate window composer - fails

*Mac - Leopard and Snow Leopard
    FF 3.6.3 - embedded composer - WORKS!
    - separate window composer - fails

    *Windows XP Pro
    FF 3.5.7 - embedded composer - fails
    - separate window composer - fails
    FF 3.5.9 - embedded composer - fails
    - separate window composer - fails
    FF 3.6.3 - embedded composer - WORKS!
    - separate window composer - fails
