I just installed chrome and I'm getting the same results. If I drag the image it just opens up.

i would think it definately has to be a server problem then. did you restart zimbra already?

also make sure that the zimlet is definately enabled for your server & cos, you can see this with zmzimletctl listzimlets

maybe also undeploy and redeploy while tailing the /opt/zimbra/mailbox.log. If there are any errors it will print them there.

not sure what to tell you if none of that works

Yeah, I did restart zimbra and the zimlets are showing to be deployed on the server, the COS and LDAP. I'll undeploy and redeploy while tailing the log and see what I come up with. Thanks for all of the suggestions by the way.

After checking the logs everything appears to be fine:
Installing Zimlet com_zimbra_dndext on this host.
Upgrading Zimlet com_zimbra_dndext to 1.0_6.0.7.20100610.094457
Adding Zimlet com_zimbra_dndext to COS default
Enabling Zimlet com_zimbra_dndext
Is that possibly the wrong version of the zimlet? (I'm just grasping now I know)!

Note per miguel's post above, DnD to Briefcase has different requirements vs. DnD to compose message. DnD to Briefcase only works for Firefox 3.6.*. What browser are you using, jwhbud?

I tried both Firefox 3.6.3 and Chrome.

Ah, I see you did mention FF 3.6.3 in your initial post in this thread. Not that it should matter, but just to compare notes, what OS are FF & Chrome running under? (I've yet to upgrade to 6.0.7 but I hope to do so soon.)

Otel Consulting has developed a fix for firefox 7 for drag and drop zimlet for Zimbra 6.x systems. Have not tested it under Zimbra 7.

Corrects the following issues:
  • java.io.FileNotFoundException: zimlet description not found: com_zimbra_dnd.xml
  • undefined file description after upload
  • "Critical - Error uploading file" dialog appears and the "Attaching files" line sort of sits there and spins

More info and instructions can be found here.
