Sync additional address book to iPhone

Hi,
we are using an additional address book for external contacts that is shared among all users.
Everyone can add and change entries there.
In Zimbra Online and Desktop auto completion uses this address book, but on the iPhone the "global address list" does not search in this address book.
I think this is because the iPhone only searches the GAL.

So the question is: How to bring this address book into the GAL, so that it can be searched from the iPhone.

I read quite a lot of things about internal and external GAL sync accounts, but I think all these things will lead to an address book that can't be user edited.

Any suggestions?

Hi,

the bug is about not able to sync the shared calendar/address book.
So this explains part of my question.

But beside of syncing the complete address book the iPhone has the function of "searching the global address list" and I would pretty much like this function to view the same results as the auto-completion inside Zimbra. Currently it only shows results from the GAL.

You can only show results from the gal on a mobile client. That bug that was mentioned is what would allow you to do this differently. Theres no way to add addressbooks into the gal for this purpose.
