External LDAP authentication filter??

sir,

We are providing so many services to students in our university.One of those is mail server which is zimbra.We are decided to use Single signON authentiction for all services.In zimbra in order to use External LDAP authentication it is asking LDAP filter.

so what i am supposed to provide in that fileld ..???

login id formate "username@bits-pilani.ac.in" domain=bits-pilani.ac.in

I believe you do need the parentheses around the filter:
(uid=%u)

Beyond that - what is the problem you're having? Are you getting a specific error message?

I've found the best way of troubleshooting LDAP authentication issues is to use a packet capture tool such as Wireshark and analyze both what Zimbra (or any other LDAP client) is sending, and what the responses from your LDAP server are.
