Default CSV Account Provisioning

Hi there

I like the feature of provisioning accounts with a csv file, but .....

- can I adjust the characters / charactertypes used for the random password? I will be quite hard for users (K12 Stundents) to find the } on their Keyboard

- I get the result (inlucluding the random passwords) in a window without a chance to print it

What is the best practice to let users know their first password if there is no export?

Thanks

Andre

forget the "can't print" thing, I have't seen the results csv ... stupid me.

Still: any chance to adopt the way the random passwords are generated?

I would recommend doing the CSV import, and then from the command line you can run reset all of the passwords quick and easy:

zmprov SetPassword account@domain.com newpassword

for each account. You could have your own method set up to generate a new password which uses easier characters to use.

If I do that (assuming I use all the same starter password), I can put it in the csv which save me the zmprov way.
I just thought, there maybe an "easier" way

I don't think there is quite yet.

You could also use zmprov to force a password change on every account on their first login, just to be extra safe. -- Just an idea.
