I am Using Zimbra open source edition version 5.0.18_GA, and outlook ,Thunderbird is used as client.

Problem : When i change the user Information in outlook i.e instead of my email id,if i provide someother user id with in the same domain and try to send mail it is reaching the recipent based on the modification.If i change the email id in the user information of outlook with different domain like gmail id,hotmail id or yahoo id the mail is not reaching to the recipient.Kindly need solution.

How are you using Outlook and where does Thunderbird come in the equation ? What about any errors from your Log Files - Zimbra :: Wiki ?

in both cases of client if i change the user information and send mail the recipient can see the modified email id instead of my email id.(i.e with in the same domain,ex.in outlook User information,username :Ramji,email id : ramjimh@gmail.com.if i change the email id:shareek@gmail.com and send the mail means it user can see my name with the modified emailid (shareek@gmail.com).actually the mail should drop when the user information is modifed from client,but zimbra is allowing to send mails.

We are using zimbra open source version 5.0.18_GA and it is allowing to send mails even if the user does not exist.Example:User name with ramji@emaple.com is configured in outlook 2007.and if we change the user information in outlook to dummy@example.com and try to send mails it is allwoing to send mails to other mails and it is not verifying.

our domain name is osais.com.i configured the outlook based on my profile ramji@osais.com.Then i changed the user information in the outlook to dummy@osais.com and send a mail to external domain like ramjimh@gmail.com and ramjimh@hotmail.com and it reached the domain in the name of dummy with email id dummy@osais.com, and in the zimbra log it is telling connected to local host.I checked the configuration of postfix in zimbra,in the main.cf i found mydestination = localhost. Need solution.

I have given the log file,In that it is sending from dummy@osais.com,but there is no such account in that domain.
1).Configured theMicrosoft outlook 2007 in the name of ramji@osais.com
2).After that changed the user information as dummy@osais.com and sent a mail.it is Reaching to other domains without problem.

When you receive the email in the hotmail acccount would you please post the full headers from it so we can see.

The username dummy and the email dummy@osais.com is not in our domain.
