Default Calendar view for all user calendars

Hello everyone,

I was wondering if anyone can help me. I am running Zimbra 5.0.18, which will be upgraded in the near future to the latest version. I have about 30 people in the company that use outlook + connector to store their data. Each one uses calendars on a regular basis and they all need to have a "common calendar" which would show everyone's appointments. Like something simple as a calendar view (day/week/month view) with multiple people's entries.

I know that each user can share their own calendar with everyone else, but this is not really a solution. The main reason for that is it is too complicated (asking users to add one person is too much issue for them, let alone 30 odd people), but the main reason is that Outlook would become very unstable, slow and will crash more often than not. So, I do not want to go down that route.

Did anyone come across similar requirements? Is there a way to achieve something similar with Zimbra?

Many thanks

Andrei

You could create a resource and then require everyone to invite that resource to all their appointments. Be sure to allow double-booking, which I think is possible.

Some of these bugzilla entries may be worth voting for:

Bug 44747 – Open Calendar / Open Calendar Group
Bug 29724 – Calendar aggregation (REST + Web client)
Bug 37836 – RFE: external web access to multiple users' free/busy times, viewable on a single page
