Maintaining customizations across upgrades

For ISP:s and HSP:s, customizing Zimbra is quite important .. which is why I'm baffled at the lack of support for maintaining such customizations across version upgrades.

Am I really supposed to edit the content files, translations, logos, etc. every time I do an upgrade?

Doesn't Zimbra realize that depending on the level of customizations, this could actually prevent administrators from performing upgrades due to the time involved (6.0.1, 6.0.2, 6.0.3, 6.0.4, and now 6.0.5 have appeared in fairly rapid succession -- albeit not fast enough in some cases).

Or is there some super neato mosquito trick that the rest of you ZCS-gurus out there are using (besides not customizing themes, logos, and translations)?
