Default ldap sync broken in post-6.0.5 upgrade

I have two servers, a master and a slave ldap. Had problems during the 6.0.5 upgrade on the slave LDAP, but Support helped me through that. However, since then it appears that LDAP is not syncing between the two servers. I followed the wiki article Importing LDAP data from master to replica 6.0 - Zimbra :: Wiki and that went ok, but still no ldap sync - case in point, creating an account from the master ldap that is assigned to the slave ldap message store does not actually create an account on the slave LDAP (e.g. that change is not synched across).

Suggestions as to where I start looking, where/how to log any possible errors (zimbra.log doesn't show much if anything)?
