Default Video conferencing that plays well with Zimbra

Dear community of like-minded Zimbra administrators:

We are in the market for a video conferencing solution that will ideally also have functionality offered by the likes of gotomeeting, and I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions or examples of products that play well with Zimbra. I am tired of hearing the phrase "integrates with your Outlook", not just because it is incorrectly constructed, but also because of the widespread assumption that all businesses use Outlook.

Ideally we want some sort of fixed system to be installed in 3-4 conference rooms in various part of the US, and the ability for those who are at home or travelling to be able to join meetings using regular old webcams on their laptops. So far the combination of a Cisco system with webex seems to get closest to meeting these needs, but their pricing is ridiculous.

I appreciate any advice you may be able to give.

Thanks in advance.

Well find a nice web based solution and create you own zimlet ? You could even add a tab to the Zimbra Web client and deliver the content using a IFRAME.

This would ideally integrate with IM, which already handles presence etc. This could put Zimbra ahead of Exchange in yet another way. It sounds like an awesome project, and I wish I had the time to put into it; especially having seen that the browser based components of all the commercial systems I have seen so far are very weak.

Right now though, I need to be able to buy something that works before Q2.

Any thoughts?
