Default Centos5 to Ubuntu

I have a question for any of you other admins out there. Have any of you done a transfer from Centos5 to Ubuntu? Does Zimbra (open source edition) run better on either one? We have been using centos5 for our mail server for 2 years now and haven't had any problems whatsoever. We are primarily a Ubuntu shop when it comes to our Linux boxes. Two years ago when we started using Zimbra Ubuntu wasn't a supported OS. It now has become one. Is there a clean way to transfer the mail store or do you have to start from scratch due to the differences in distros?

Thanks for your inputs

I have done a CentOS 5.4 to Ubuntu 8.04 migration, just to stay on an OS which is supported by Zimbra (as CentOS currently isn't).
